About the Author
Mark Kahanding is a scholar and experienced leader specializing in Drone Warfare, Information Warfare, and Cyber Warfare. He has direct combat experience leading air defense teams in Syria, where he successfully conducted counter-UAS operations and authored intelligence reports that enhanced situational awareness and mission planning across multiple commands. Mark began his career as a Combat Medic, rising to leadership roles while developing skills in crisis management, training, and operational coordination. He currently serves as a Field Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army National Guard, overseeing complex exercises and leading teams with precision and strategic insight. Beyond his military career, Mark has managed multi-location retail operations as an Assistant Area Manager and taught leadership, life skills, and tactical courses at North Valley Military Institute, demonstrating his ability to lead, train, and inspire diverse teams. He holds a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, where his thesis on historical conflict analysis was published.
